Community Health Centers in BC

Recently Community Health Centres have been in the news. Vancouver Coastal Health has said that it is consolidating three of its community health centers into one center. As quoted in an article by Vancouver Sun, “…the goal is to move patients with lower needs into the care of family physicians. Those with high needs will [get] centralized treatment at the Primary Care High Needs Stabilization, [which]… will be able to help people seven days a week, 12 hours a day.” (You can read the full article in Vancouver Sun at: http://www.vancouversun.com/health/Vancouver+Coastal+Health+consolidating+community+clinics/9715909/story.html )

• what are your assumptions and beliefs about community health centres?
