Description:
Qmunity is a queer resource centre, serving Vancouver and the lower mainland in their physical office, and the province of BC through online resources. It is a hub for the lesbian, gay, trans*, bisexual, and queer community. Qmunity offers services, information, education, and resources for youth and adults of all ages with the goal of envisioning a world where all people are included and free from discrimination.
Qmunity offers free, low-barrier services, including counselling services, medical clinic for STI testing and treatment, naturopathic clinic, consulting/educational services for the wider community (including allies of LGBTQ people), support groups, social events, and a library.. They also offer specific programming for youth (ages 25 and younger) and elders/seniors within their wider mandate.
Qmunity has a significant online presence to provide information and referrals for people who are not in Vancouver, or are otherwise unable to access the resources in the physical space.

Opportunities for Involvement:
Volunteering opportunities in the following capacities are available. Qmunity seeks volunteers who celebrate diversity and have a strong knowledge and understanding of the LGBTQ community. Please contact volunteers@qmunity.ca for more details.
- Counsellors: Must be licensed as an RCC, MSW, or CCC – or be participating in a supervised practicum
- Peer support group leaders
Qmunity also works with volunteers in the areas of the following:

- Office management and support programs
- Computer and technology studies
- Marketing and communications studies
- Event planning and management programs
- Service-learning programs
As well, Qmunity offers Queer Competency Trainings: Workshops that provide practical tools and key concepts for service providers, businesses, and community groups to create safer and more inclusive spaces for LGBTQ clients, colleagues, and community members. Qmunity offers these trainings in various locations for groups (including staff teams, school groups, etc.), as well as a drop-in session for individual interested in learning more about this topic.
